We started in Helsinki in 2020 as STRGL, a research and development company for decentralised technology and trusted product data.
Piloting digital product passports with Sitra, the Finnish Tax Administration and Finnish fashion companies showed us where collections really break: cost, plans and orders live in separate files, and nobody sees the whole season. So that is what we build now, from Helsinki and Station F in Paris.
STRGL researched how shared, verifiable data could show where a product comes from and what it is made of. In 2023 we joined Sitra's panel on what web 3.0 means for the environment, and became a founding member of Data Spaces Alliance Finland the year after.

With Sitra we tested blockchains as the base for textile passports. With the Finnish Tax Administration we published passports in a national pilot, and for Finnish Textile & Fashion we guided ten fashion companies through their first passports and wrote the results report. Two Aalto University projects studied passports in luxury and secondhand fashion with us.
Our traceability work was funded through two Horizon Europe programmes, SoTecIn Factory and IN TRANSIT, and reviewed with regulators in the European Commission's Blockchain Sandbox.
Every pilot ended in the same place. The passport data was already in the collection, just scattered across sheets, emails and tech packs.

In 2025 the studio became Tree Technologies. We now build daily collection management for design-led brands: live cost and margin for every style, the line plan, the Critical Path and purchase orders in one place, with the passport as one click at the end.

Seven years in fashion technology. Led the passport pilots with Sitra and the Finnish Tax Administration, and has spoken on them at Sitra, SFS and CIFF.

Designs how the product looks and works, and decides what goes in it next.
