Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot to Tr3e
Tr3e works as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and other AI apps that support MCP. Add it once, and your AI app can read your collection and make changes for you, with your own permissions.
What you get
Once connected, you can talk to your collection in the AI app you already use. For example:
- Which products in SS27 have no unit cost yet?
- Add the Oslo Coat in Black and Ecru, sizes S to L, to SS27 under Outerwear.
- Plan 60 wholesale and 20 retail units of every size for this coat.
- Add Organic Cotton Jersey 180, black, 180 gsm, sold by the metre.
The app reads and writes the same data your team sees in Tr3e. Nothing is copied anywhere else.
The address
Every AI app asks for the same address:
https://api.tr3e.com/mcpYou sign in with your Tr3e account the first time. You don't need an API key.
Connect Claude
Works in Claude on the web and in the desktop app, on every plan that allows custom connectors.
- Open Customize → Connectors in Claude.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Give it a name, such as Tr3e, and paste the address
https://api.tr3e.com/mcp. - Choose Add, then Connect, and sign in to Tr3e.
- Check the Workspace shown on Connect, then choose Allow.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once under Organization settings → Connectors. Everyone else then finds it in Customize → Connectors and chooses Connect.
In a chat, the + button → Connectors turns Tr3e on or off for that conversation.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds connectors like Tr3e in Developer mode, on the web, for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.
- Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create app.
- Name it Tr3e, paste the address
https://api.tr3e.com/mcpand pick OAuth for authentication. - Sign in to Tr3e, check the Workspace, then choose Allow.
- In a chat, choose Developer mode from the + menu and pick Tr3e.
ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Tr3e changes anything. Read the details, then approve.
Connect Microsoft Copilot
In Microsoft's world, Tr3e is added to a Copilot agent in Copilot Studio. Your Microsoft 365 admin or whoever builds your team's agents usually does this once.
- In Copilot Studio, open your agent and go to Tools.
- Choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Name it Tr3e, describe it as Our fashion collections, products, materials and costs, and paste the address
https://api.tr3e.com/mcp. - Pick OAuth 2.0 with Dynamic discovery, then choose Create.
- Choose Create a new connection, sign in to Tr3e and choose Allow. Then choose Add to agent.
- Publish the agent to Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot, so your team can ask it there.
The description matters: Copilot reads it to decide when to use Tr3e.
Other AI apps
Any app that supports remote MCP servers works the same way. Look for custom connector, remote MCP server or integration in its settings, add the address, and sign in to Tr3e.
What it can do
| You ask for | Tr3e |
|---|---|
| Who am I connected as? | Your name, the Workspace and your role |
| Find or open products | Variants, sizes, bill of materials, manufacturing and unit cost |
| Create or change a product | Colours, sizes, options, prices, category, and each size's SKU, barcode and planned units |
| Find or open collections | Budget, categories, milestones and products |
| Create or change a collection | A new collection needs a PO Ready date, and can get its categories at once |
| Find materials and components | SKU, unit, colour, weight and stock |
| Create or change materials and components | Name, SKU, unit, colour, weight and stock |
| How do I…? | Answers from Tr3e's documentation |
It can't delete anything. A product, collection, material or component is only deleted by someone in Tr3e itself.
Your permissions come with you
The connector works as you, with your role in the Workspace.
- Owners, admins and members can read and make changes.
- Viewers can read, and their changes are refused.
- Changes are saved when your AI app runs the tool. Most apps ask you first. Check your app's settings if you want it to always ask.
The connector is tied to the Workspace you were in when you connected. To use another Workspace, switch to it in Tr3e and connect again.
Keep it safe
- Everyone connects with their own sign-in. There is no shared key to pass around or leak.
- Read before you approve. Let your AI app run Tr3e without asking only for reading, and approve changes one by one.
- Turn it off where you don't need it. In a chat about something else, switch the Tr3e connector off.
- When someone leaves, remove them from the Workspace. Their connector stops working at once.
- Check bigger changes in Tr3e. An AI can misread a request, so look over larger edits afterwards.
Tips for good answers
- Name the collection. In SS27, … gets you a faster and more exact answer than in our collection.
- Use your own words. Tr3e understands Style IDs, colour names and category names as your team writes them.
- Ask it to check first. Show me what you would change before you save is a good habit for bigger edits.
- Mention Tr3e when you have several connectors. Using Tr3e, list… picks the right one.
Disconnect
Remove the connector in your AI app. The connector also stops working if you leave the Workspace or its access ends.
If something doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The sign-in window doesn't open | Allow pop-ups for your AI app, then choose Connect again. |
| It shows the wrong Workspace | Switch to the right Workspace in Tr3e, remove the connector and connect again. |
| Changes are refused | Your role is Viewer. Ask an owner or admin to change your role. |
| ChatGPT has no Create app button | Turn on Developer mode first. Your plan needs to allow it. |
