Materials, suppliers and certificates

The Library holds what your products are made from and who makes them. Add each thing once and use it in every product. When a price changes, every style that uses it is costed again.

Open them from Library in the sidebar.

Add a material

  1. Choose New material, or Create → Material in the top bar.
  2. Fill in what you know. Only the name is required: SKU, unit, stock, weight, colour, supplier and composition can come later.
  3. Choose Save.

Components work the same way.

Prices come from orders

A material has no price field. Its price is the unit price of its most recent order, marked Current price.

  1. In the material's Orders section, choose Record order.
  2. Fill in the units ordered, the order date and the minimum order quantity.
  3. Enter the Unit price, then choose Record order.
Open a material, choose Record order, and fill in what you ordered and the unit price.

So when a supplier changes a price, record the new order. Every style that uses the material is costed again, with no spreadsheet to update.

Composition

Give each material its parts, such as Cotton 95% and Elastane 5%, each with its type (plant, animal, synthetic, regenerated…) and source (virgin, recycled, bio-based…). The parts must add up to 100%. The composition appears on the Digital Product Passport.

Certificates

  1. In Library → Certificates, choose New certificate.
  2. Fill in its name, who issued it and when it expires, and attach the file.
  3. Under Linked materials & components, pick what it covers. Then Save.
