SKUs and barcodes
Every size of every variant has its own SKU and barcode. Type them in, or let Tr3e create them from your own codes and your GS1 range.
Where they live
Open a variant and its Manufacturing tab. The sizes table has a SKU and a Barcode for each size.
Tr3e warns you, without stopping you, when two sizes share a SKU or a barcode, or when a barcode's last digit isn't a valid check digit.
Create SKUs
- In Settings → General → SKUs, turn on Generate SKUs.
- Give each colour and option a short Code, such as BLA for Black.
Tr3e builds each SKU from the product's Style ID, its codes and the size, such as ST1182-BLA-M.
For existing products:
- One product: ⋮ → Regenerate SKUs. You see every new SKU before you confirm. If nothing would change, Tr3e tells you every SKU is up to date.
- A whole collection: ⋮ → Generate missing SKUs.
A SKU someone typed by hand stays as it is.
Create barcodes
- In Settings → General → Barcodes, enter your GS1 company prefix, pick EAN-13 or UPC-A, and turn on Generate barcodes. The section shows how many barcodes your range has left.
- On a product or a collection, choose ⋮ → Generate missing barcodes.
The same number is never given twice. When your GS1 range runs out, Tr3e tells you how many sizes were left without one.
Who can
Owners and admins change the SKU and barcode settings. Owners, admins and members create them on products.
