The Critical Path

Every product in a collection works through eight milestones, from the line plan to the production handover. Tr3e dates them back from the collection's PO Ready date and shows who owns what.

The eight milestones

They close in order. A product's current milestone is the first one not yet complete.

How the dates are set

When you create a collection you pick its PO Ready date and a Calendar pace: Fast-Track (26 weeks), Standard (36 weeks) or Extended (52 weeks). Tr3e counts every milestone back from there.

Change a date for the whole collection in its settings, or for one product on the product's page. Dates stay in milestone order.

Statuses

StatusWhen
CompleteIt has been closed.
In progressIt's the product's current milestone.
At riskSomeone flagged it, and its date hasn't passed.
LateIts date has passed.
SkippedThe product was dropped before it got there.
Not startedNone of the above.

Owners

Each milestone has an Owner and Contributors. Tr3e proposes them from what each person does, set in Settings → General → Members: Merchandising, Design, Product development, Technical, Materials, Sourcing, Production, Quality or Commercial.

The My products filter shows the products whose next step is yours.

Close a milestone

  1. Open the product from its collection. Its milestones are on the right.
  2. On the current milestone, choose a decision.

The line plan (01) is signed off once for the whole collection, from the collection's Critical Path view. At 04 you first mark Sample received, and at 05 Costing done, before deciding.

Made a mistake? Reopen undoes a decision.

Switch the collection to Critical Path, open a product, and decide its current milestone on the right.

Flag a risk

Choose Flag at risk on a milestone, and write the Reason, such as Fabric supplier confirmed a two week delay, and the Next action. The milestone shows At risk until its date passes, then Late with your reason.

Follow the whole collection

On the collection, open the Critical Path tab:

  • Table: a row per product and a column per milestone. Click a milestone's heading to see what's late or at risk there, and why.
  • Board: a column per milestone. Each product sits where its current milestone is.
