WFX PLM alternatives for fashion brands

WFX PLM from World Fashion Exchange is a fashion PLM for mid-market and enterprise brands, with a rollout of 8 to 12 weeks. Its prices are not public. Smaller brands, and brands that want to start faster, often look at other tools too. This page lists the usual alternatives and what each one is good at.

What WFX covers

World Fashion Exchange has made software for the fashion industry since 2000 and says it works with more than 1,000 fashion businesses in over 50 countries. WFX PLM covers line planning, design with a two-way Adobe Illustrator connector, tech packs with points of measure and BOMs, a vendor portal with RFQs and costing, sample tracking, quality inspections on iPad, purchase orders and shipments. Its AI features include moodboards and a tech pack reader that turns PDFs into product data. WFX also sells its own fashion ERP and connects to NetSuite, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics.

WFX says it is built for brands managing hundreds of styles and global supplier networks. Rollout takes 8 to 12 weeks, with configuration, data migration and training done by the WFX team. Prices are given on request.

If WFX is on your shortlist, the practical questions are the yearly cost for your team, how many supplier logins are included, and whether you need a full implementation project at your size.

How Tr3e differs from WFX

WFX reaches across the whole supply chain, from RFQs to factory inspections and shipments, and is set up for you by its team. Tr3e is smaller and self-serve. Every style sits in one collection with its colours, sizes, materials and live unit cost, compared with the target price, so the team sees the margin while the design can still change. The collection budget shows spend, projected revenue and profit. The Critical Path dates the milestones back from the purchase order date, and purchase orders come straight from planned units in the supplier's own currency. Tr3e also creates SKUs and barcodes for every size and publishes Digital Product Passports.

Tr3e has no RFQ tool, quality inspections, ERP or Illustrator plug-in. If you run hundreds of styles across many factories and want those in the same system, WFX or Centric fit that better.

Moving to Tr3e

  1. Export your styles and materials as spreadsheets.
  2. Create your Workspace and fill in its currency, sizes and codes. See Get started with Tr3e.
  3. Add materials, suppliers and certificates to the Library once.
  4. Create the current collection with its products, colours and sizes, and add each variant's materials and manufacturing to see live cost.
  5. Invite the team and suppliers. Viewers and suppliers are free.

Most teams start with the season they are working on now.
